About Blue October

Blue October, an American rock band hailing from Houston, Texas, was founded in 1995. The band's current lineup comprises lead vocalist and guitarist Justin Furstenfeld, drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld, multi-instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye, bassist Matt Noveskey, and lead guitarist Steve Schiltz. The formation of Blue October was spearheaded by Justin Furstenfeld, joined by his brother Jeremy and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye. Their big break came when former Kid Rock manager Michael Rand discovered them performing at the Pappadeaux Cafe in Houston in 1998. Rand's agency subsequently booked over 350 gigs for the group despite not being signed. This extensive exposure, coupled with dedicated publicity and artist development, helped propel the band's career forward

The year 1998 marked the release of Blue October's self-titled debut album, a remastered version of the band's self-released debut, All Wound Up. This album, distributed by Universal/Republic Records, achieved significant success by shipping four million copies in the United States. Notably, in 2001, the band contributed the track "Why" to the Any Given Sunday soundtrack.

Following two years of extensive touring, Blue October released "Awake." Although this album also garnered commercial success, it did not surpass the sales of their debut album. In 2002, drummer Tommy Stewart departed from the band due to personal differences and was subsequently replaced by Shannon Larkin.
